Set of 4 'Ole' Dining Chairs by Niels Koefoed for Hornslet 1960's
Description
Back in the day, the Danish town of Hornslet was home to multiple furniture producers, though most of them specialised in either upholstery or cabinetry. Furniture factory Koefoeds Hornslet, founded by Einar Koefoed in the 1920's and made popular under his son Niels, took another path and started the production of fine furniture, though ultimately it would be the dining room chairs stealing the show.
Niels Koefoed's succes story starts in 1957, with the light & minimalistic 'Peter' chair, but it would certainly not end there. Other famous designs followed; 'Eva' and 'Ole' being the most beloved ones.
Though varying in design and execution, all of Koefoed's furniture stays true to the typical Danish style. His designs are widely sought after by vintage lovers worldwide, making the original midcentury era productions in great demand on the vintage market.
